Mr. James Michael McIntyre, age 62, of Rex Payne RD, Blairsville, passed away Friday, December 2, 2011 at his home following an extended illness. Mr. McIntyre was born January 7, 1949 in Rockland Lake, NY. He moved to Blairsville 16 years ago. He was an avid sports player, loved to talk to people, loved the mountains and hiking, and being with family. He was a big Notre Dame fan. He was a loving husband, son, father, brother and grandfather. Mr. McIntyre was preceded in death by his father, James McIntyre. He was of the Catholic Faith. Survivors include his wife Kathleen McIntyre of Blairsville, mother, Katherine McIntyre of Rockland Lake, NY, children, Killeaen and Eric Arbanas of Jefferson, GA, Carrie Schlarb of Blairsville, Michael McIntyre of Blairsville, two brothers and sisters in law, Peter and Eileen McIntyre of Garnerville, NY, Chris and Deloris McIntyre of Newark, DE, one sister and brother in law, Katherine and John Mangan of Congers, NY., four grandchildren, Emily Schlarb, Clayton Schlarb, Shane Arbanas and Breanna Arbanas, several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends also survive. A private memorial service was held. Mr. Billy Don
Frala age 55 of Mulkey Gap Rd. Blairsville passed away on Monday
December 5, 2011 in the Union General Hospital following a brief
illness. Mr. Frala was born on Sept. 5, 1956 in Blytheville Arkansas,
the son of William Donald Frala and the late Patricia Ann Doolen Frala.
Billy had lived in Blairsville for over twenty five years moving here
from Stone Mountain. At the time of his death he was employed as a
social Worker with the Ninth District Opportunity in Union County. Billy
enjoyed helping and working with people. He was a very loving son,
brother and was a friend to many. Mr. Frala was of the Methodist faith. Surviving Mr. Frala are his father, Bill Frala of Lawrenceville, GA., one sister and brother in law, Teresa and Larry Trawick of Lawrenceville, many other relatives and friends also survive. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials may made to those who are in need in Union County in memory of Bill. Mr. Al John Niemczyk age 67 of
Pleasant Grove Rd. Blairsville passed away on Tuesday Dec. 6, 2011 in
the Atlanta Medical Center following an extended illness. Mr. Niemczyk
was borb on Dec. 22, 1943 in Mineola, NY., the son of the late Alfred
John Niemczyk and the late Edna Poetsch Niemczyk. Al was a veteran of
the US Army of the Vietnam War. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and
traveling. He was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather. Al
was a member of All Saints Lutheran Church. Surviving Mr. Niemczyk are his loving wife of eighteen years, Lynda Rhodes Niemczyk of Blairsville, four sons and two daughters in law, Josh Rhodes of Blairsville, John Niemczyk of Richmond, VA., Tom and Cheryl Niemczyk of Blairsville, Timothy and Susan Niemczyk of Richmond, VA., one daughter and son in law, Melissa and Ron Geisler of PA., one brother, Rick Niemczyk of Ft. Lauderdale, FL., five grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive. Funeral services will be held on Saturday Dec. 10, 2011 at 2:00pm from the Mountain View Chapel with the Rev. Dave Wesche officiating. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to help defray medical and funeral expenses in memory of Al. Mrs. Virginia Sowell Tullis, age 58, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday Dec. 6, 2011, from her home on Bruce Drive in Blairsville, following a battle with cancer. Ginny was born on July 28, 1953, in Savannah, GA, the daughter of Charles Hamilton Sowell, Sr. and the late Grace Counts Sowell. Ginny dedicated her life to the health care profession as a Medical Technologist. She found happiness in each of the following health care settings in which she served: Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, TN, Methodist Hospitals of Dallas, Egleston Children’s Hospital of Atlanta, Emory University Hospital of Atlanta, Children’s Health Care of Atlanta, Union General Hospital and, most recently, Georgia Cancer Specialists of Blairsville. Ginny was a loving and caring wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church (PCA). Surviving Ginny are her loving husband of thirty five years, Bill Tullis of Blairsville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Amanda and Chris Anderson of Cumming, and Candy and James Wright, Jr. of Dahlonega; her father, Charles H. Sowell Sr. of Savannah; one brother and sister-in-law, Chuck and Frankie Sowell of Savannah; one sister and brother-in-law, Beth and Kerry Conaway of Savannah; three grandchildren, Landon Cooper Anderson, James L. Wright, III and Emma Renee Anderson. Many other relatives and friends also survive. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Dec.10, 2011, at 4:00 pm at Grace Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Jon Jacobs officiating. In lieu of flowers, if you wish, the family requests that donations be made to the Union County Relay For Life in memory of Ginny. The family will meet with friends on Saturday from 3-4:00 pm at the church prior to the service. A reception at the family home will follow the service.
