Mr. Ralph Ray Plott, age 69, of Plott RD Connector, Young
Harris passed away Friday, January 27, 2012 at Chatuge Regional Nursing
Home following an extended illness. Ralph was born December 10, 1942 in
Towns County son of the late Grady and Lillie Shook Plott. He liked
racing of all kinds. He was a member of Stephens Masonic Lodge # 414 F &
AM, he was also a member of the Odd Fellows. Ralph was preceded in death
by a sister, June Gibson and a brother, Worth Plott. He was a member of
Cornerstone Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years Joan Plott of Young
Harris, sons, Ralph Ray Plott, JR of Young Harris and Rickey Darrell and
Sherry Plott of Young Harris, brothers, Dennis Plott of Young Harris,
Ronnie Plott of Young Harris and Keith and Carmen Plott of Young Harris,
sisters, Mary Sue Minette of Hiawassee, Irma and Tommy Flanagan of Young
Harris and Reba Ingram of Young Harris, grandchildren, Nathan
Leatherwood, Jessica Moneymaker and Ashley Gustafson, great
grandchildren, Cadence Leatherwood, Dawson Gustafson and Paisley
Gustafson.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January
29, 2012 at Cornerstone Baptist Church with Rev. Ricky Rogers, Rev.
Larry Williams, Rev. Jimmy Rogers and Rev. Larry Forrseter officiating.
Music will be by Benny and Susan Shook Family and Dr. Tracy Edwards.
Pallbearers will be Woody Gustafson, Kevin Warren, Chad Ingram, Cecil
Shook, Brownie Brown and Todd Flanagan. Interment will be in Cornerstone
Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Cornerstone Baptist
Church on Saturday evening after 6 p.m.

Mrs. Ellen Follette Garrison age 94 of St. Petersburg,
FL., passed away on Friday Jan. 27, 2012 in Heritage Health Care of Blue
Ridge following a brief illness. Mrs. Garrison was born on March 4, 1917
in Kingston, NY, the daughter of the late Clarence Marquand and the late
Ellen VanWert Marquand. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great
grandmother and great-great grandmother. She was preceded in death by
her husband, John A. Garrison in 1992, a daughter, Phyllis M. Cassidy in
2011 and by a sister, Margaret Marquand. Mrs. Garrison was of the
Protestant faith.
Surviving Mrs. Garrison are two sons and daughters in
law, Vincent and Margaret Garrison of Ellijay, GA., John Richard and
Molly Garrison of Ft. Myers, FL., eight grandchildren, eleven great
grandchildren and four great- great grandchildren, many other relatives
and friends also survive.
A memorial service will be held at a later date with
interment to follow in the Memorial Gardens in St. Petersburg, FL. In
lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorial donations
may be made to a favorite charity of your choice in memory of Mrs.
Garrison.

William “Boyd” Alexander, 74, of Fortson, GA died
Saturday, January 28, 2012 in Blairsville, GA.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, February
1, 2012 at Grace Baptist Church 2915 14th Avenue Columbus, GA
31904 with Dr. Jeff Amsbaugh officiating. Interment will be held at
Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends
Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at McMullen Funeral Home 3874
Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Alexander was born March 10, 1937 in Harris County,
GA. Boyd joined the U.S. Army at age 17 and participated in the atomic
bomb test in the pacific. He was a Machinist by trade and retired as
supervisor of the machining and extrusion departments of J.H. Williams,
a division of snap-on tools in Columbus. He was also a member of Grace
Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, R.H. and
Gertrude Ennis Alexander, sister, Perlie May Costin Kelly, and two
brothers, James Lewis and Robert Earl Alexander.
Survivors include his loving wife of 43 years, Lucy
Carolyn Lee Alexander of Blairsville, GA, son, Emory Alexander
(Rachael), grandchildren, Hunter and Dixie Alexander all of Blairsville,
GA, and several nieces and nephews.

Celebration for a Great Soldier of God gone home.
Loyde
Henderson, 80, of Blairsville, GA, has cashed in his paid in full one
way ticket on Sunday, January 29th, 2012. Loyde’s life was
one full of love for God, his wonderful wife of fifty-seven years, and
loving children and grandchildren.
Loyde served
as a faithful deacon for over forty-four years. He was the best husband
and most loving daddy anyone could have asked for. He always loved to
spoil his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was also a great
leader and role model for his children and their spouses. Loyde was a
man who believed that you have to stand for something or you will fall
for anything. To know him was to love him, and if you were his friend
you had a friend for life.
He was
preceded in death by his loving grandchild, Derrick Whitmore; parents,
Howard and Lori Henderson; brothers, Bass, Bob, Jim and Birl Henderson.
He left
behind his most precious and loving wife, Bernice and children, Michael
and Sonja Henderson, Genevieve and Ray Whitmore, Joy and Leeland Ridley,
Janice and Doobie White, Tammy and Jimmy Chastain, Mitchell and Haley
Henderson. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, nine
great-grandchildren, one brother, George, and a host of nieces, nephews
and friends.
He was loved
by all and will be very missed. This isn’t good-bye, it’s just see you
in a little while when we meet in heaven.
Funeral
services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at
Revival Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Seay, Rev. Farrell Presley, and
Rev. Tim Renshaw officiating. Music will be by Rev. Phillip Thomas,
Jimmy Chastain, Troy and Linda Phillips and Rev. Tim Renshaw and family.
Unseen Pallbearer, Derrick Whitmore, pallbearers Corey Henderson, Brody
White, Heath Henderson, Tren Cisneros, Ethan Henderson and Thomas
Herbert. Honorary pallbearers will be Sammy Lowman, L.D. Buchanan,
Hubert Plott, Ernest Harris, Howard Nichols, Scott Harris, Roy Phillips,
David Hemphill, Charles Gibson, Tony Young, Ronald Gibson, Lamar Paris,
Randy Zimmerman and Union County Road Department. Interment will follow
in Revival Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the
funeral home Tuesday evening after 6:00 p.m.
