Mrs. Ruth Bunker Johnson, age 96, of Steertown RD,
Murphy, passed away, Monday December 26, 2011 at her home following an
extended illness. She was born in San Juan Puerto Rico daughter of the
late Franklin and Isidora Aponte Bunker. She had taught school in Palm
Beach County, FL. Mrs. Johnson moved this area 6 years ago from Tampa,
FL. She wore a red beret, had a leopard skin walking stick, carried a
puppy dog purse, and loved to perch her glasses on the puppy dog’s nose
because she loved to count the smiles she got. Her favorite saying was
“She was too blessed to be stressed”. She was preceded in death by her
husband, Walter William Johnson in 1996. She was of the Catholic Faith.
Survivors include three daughters, Lois Yeager of Murphy,
NC, Valerie and Dean Hampers of Tampa, FL and Mary and Rick Gallo of
Brunswick, GA, sister, Mary Bunker of Myerstown, PA, brother, Rex Bunker
of San Juan, Puerto Rico, five grandchildren, Bethany, Jon David,
Susana, Marisa and Viviana, also six great grandchildren.
No services are planned at this time. Interment will be in
St. Andrews Church Cemetery in Lake Worth, FL.

Mrs. Marie Lois Coffey Moore, age 72, of Crooked Creek
RD, Young Harris, GA passed away, Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at her
home following an extended illness. Marie was born in Marble, NC, on
January 5, 1939, daughter of the late Luther and Mary Bell Queen Coffey.
She was preceded in death by her husband Pastor William Ray Moore in
2001 and son, James Moore in 1968.
Mrs. Moore is survived by her son, Johnnie Moore of
Florence, SC, daughter, Jeannie Moore of TX, grandchildren Johnnie
Moore, Jr., Julia Mustakas and Dustin Ballew, brothers, Howard Coffey
and wife Martha, and Dale Coffey, special friends, B.J. Hunter and Rheta
McConnell, several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, December 31, 2011
at 2:00 p.m., at Mission Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Darin Shuler,
Rev. Homer Wilson and Rev. Johnnie Moore, JR officiating.
Music will be
by Mission Hill Choir, Korn Sisters and Larson Sisters.
In lieu of
flowers make memorials to Mission Hill Baptist Church or The Moss
Cemetery Fund.

Mr. Fred Houston Poteet, age 58, of Blue Ridge Hwy,
Blairsville, passed away, Monday, January 2, 2012 at his home following
an extended illness. Fred was born December 29, 1953 in Chattanooga, TN.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran. He moved here in 1992. Fred was preceded in
death by his father, Raymond Poteet and a son, Justin Poteet in 1992. He
was a member of Youngstown Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Gail Poteet of Blairsville,
mother, Pauline Driggins of Hixon, TN, daughter and son-in-law, Becka
and Tim Hamilton of Blairsville, Carly Poteet of Gainesville, GA,
brothers, Paul and Julie Poteet of Palm Beach, FL, Bill and Kathy Hixon
of Dayton, TN, Jim and Deborah Hixon of Hixon, TN, Mike and Diane Poteet
of Etowah, TN, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Terry and Glenda
White of Chattanooga, TN, Larry and Diane Blanks of Fayetteville, GA,
grandchildren, Cody Short, Peyton Hamilton, Makenzie Randolph and
Braylon Randolph, many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends also
survive.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday,
January 4, 2012 at Mountain View Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jonathan
Hood officiating. Music will be by Becka, Cody and Tim. Honorary
Pallbearers will be co-workers of Colwell PDC. In lieu of flowers make
memorials to Glenda Gooch Foundation. The family will receive friends at
the funeral home from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Wednesday.

John (Jack) Joseph Holleran |

Mr. John (Jack) Joseph Holleran, age 71, of Blairsville,
GA, passed away on January 4, 2012 at his residence. Mr. Holleran was
born on Christmas Day in 1940, the son of the late James and Helen
Holleran. Mr. Holleran was a graduate of Millburn High School in
Millburn, NJ, Class of 1958. Mr. Holleran attended Rider University in
Trenton, NJ. He served in the United States Army. Mr. Holleran was a
self employed Manufactures Representative. He was a loving husband to
his wife, Lynne, a loving father and grandfather. He was preceded in
death by his parents, James and Helen Holleran, and one sister, Joan
Pappas. Mr. Holleran attended St. Francis of Assisi Church in
Blairsville, GA.
Mr. Holleran is survived by and lovingly remembered by his
wife, Lynne. All of Jacks’s children from his first marriage to Leslie
Poe, reside in St. Augustine, FL, a son, Jack, a son, Jeff and his wife
Kelly, a daughter Kelly and her husband Dan Borrer, two grandchildren,
Reilly Kathleen Holleran and Jameson Murphy Holleran, known to his
grandchildren as Pop-Pop. Mr. Holleran was from a big Irish family. He
was the fourth child in a family of six, two brothers Jim and Bill,
three sisters, Joan Pappas (deceased) Terry Motzel and Ellyn Holleran.
Mr. Holleran had many nieces and nephews, of whom loved “Uncle Jack”.
He moved to Blairsville, GA in 2001 and he truly loved Blairsville, GA!
Mr. Holleran lived in Seagirt, NJ and Jupiter, FL before moving to
Blairsville, GA. Mr. Holleran was a gentleman in every respect and will
be sorely missed by those who loved him. His sense of humor was quick.
He made everyone laugh. His favorite song, as were many Irish tunes, was
the “Holleran Song”. Mr. Holleran was a member of the Elks in St.
Augustine, FL, the American Legion in Hiawassee and a member of the
Chatuge Gun Club.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 11:00 a.m.
at Mountain View Funeral Home Chapel with Father Bob Gibson officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 until
11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American
Cancer Society.
