Bass Henderson, age 91, of Blairsville, a U.S.
Army Veteran of WW2, and devoted husband and father of 3, passed away on
Thursday, December 15th. Bass was born March 15th, 1920, in Union County
GA. Bass lived his life for the Lord, and was an inspiration to his
family, friends, and community.
Bass is preceded in death by his loving wife,
Annie Henderson, of 63 years. his parents, Howard & Lorey Henderson, his
brothers, Birl, Jim, and Bob Henderson. His surviving brothers are
George Henderson and Lloyd Henderson, as well as many precious nieces
and nephews.
Bass enjoyed Christian music and praising the
Lord for his many blessings, playing golf with his family, gardening,
fishing, and spending his time with his family on the porch. Bass never
met a stranger, and found the good in everyone, making lasting
friendships.
He served his country honorably and with
pride, always proud to be an American and never taking for granted the
freedoms, that he and other soldiers for which he fought. He is
survived by his children, Irene & LD Buchanan, Geraldine & Hubert Plott,
and Brenda & Sam Lowman. His grandchildren, Janeen Plott, Aundrea & Greg
Owenby, Jason Lowman, Jerome & Donna Lowman, and Jennifer & Brent
Mosley, his great-grandchildren, Kyle & Caleb Snow, Anna & Emily Owenby,
and Olivia & Matthew Lowman.
Funeral services will be held, Sunday,
December 18th, at 3:00 p.m. at Mountain View Funeral Home Chapel with
Rev. Farrell Presley, Rev. Tommy Jenkins, Rev. Billy Franklin and Rev.
Jack Cochran officiating. Music will be provided by Forgiven.
Pallbearers will be Jason & Jerome Lowman, Greg Owenby, Kyle & Caleb
Snow, and Brent Mosley. Honorary pallbearers are Bobby Ervin, George
Henderson, and Lloyd Henderson. Internment will follow in the Henderson
Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the North Georgia Honor Guard
and the U.S Army. Visitations will be from 5 until 9 p.m. on Saturday,
December 17th, at Mountain View Funeral Home, of Blairsville GA.

Mrs. Annie Louise Aaron, age 84, of Chatham DR, Blairsville, went home
to be with her Lord, Saturday, December 17, 2011 at her home following
an extended illness. She had lived here for the past 7 years, coming
here from Lawrenceville, GA, where she had lived for 43 years. Mrs.
Aaron was born in Snellville, GA on August 5, 1927, daughter of the late Artumus and Zelma Langley Eidson. She loved being with family and
friends. She loved gardening and flowers. Mrs. Aaron was preceded in
death by her husband, Burnell Aaron in 2011 and a sister, Margie Jones
in 1995. She was a member of Lebanon Baptist Church.
Survivors
include nieces, Minnie Sue and Jimmy Wheeler of Blairsville, GA and
Brenda Taylor of Rome, GA, several great nieces, nephews and many other
relative and friends also survive.
Funeral
services will be held at 12:00 p.m., instate from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00
noon, Monday, December 19, 2011 at Lebanon Baptist Church in
Lawrenceville, GA with Rev. Tommy Thomas officiating. Music will be by
the Son’s Light Singers and Lebanon Baptist Church Choir. Pallbearers
will be Jimmy Wheeler, Jesse McGaha, Jimmy W. Wheeler, Gary Mayes,
Robert Duckworth and Ken Parker. Interment will follow in Hanes Creek
Cemetery in Loganville, GA.
The family
will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6:00
until 9:00 p.m.

Mr.
Jimmy Wayne Buchanan, age 65, of Riverbend RD, Blairsville, passed away,
Friday, December 16, 2011, at Union General Hospital. Jimmy was born
November 18, 1946 in Culberson, NC, son of the late Clyde and Eula
Buchanan. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He loved music, playing
the Guitar, writing songs and poems. Jimmy loved old cars and restoring
them. He was preceded in death by a brother, Tommy Buchanan and sister,
Gail Lane. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife Ola Mae Buchanan of Blairsville, children,
Tabitha and Charles Payne of Blairsville, James Buchanan of Blairsville,
step-children, Charles and Belynda Hughes of Cadic, KY, Ronnie and Judy
Hughes of Blairsville, Linda Hughes of Blairsville, brother, Johnny and
Ina Lee Buchanan of Ball Ground, GA, sister, Inez and Alan Green of
Commerce, GA, close friend Johnny Carroll of Blairsville, grandchildren,
Carla Payne and Jessie Payne.
Funeral
services will be held Tuesday, December 20, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at the
Mountain View Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Jones officiating.
Pallbearers will be Charlie Hughes, Justin Hughes, Harold Mull, Tony
Guy, Johnny Carroll, Julian Hughes and Gerald Nation. Interment will
follow in the Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery.The
family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from
6:00 until 9:00 p.m.

James H. Cook, age 61, of Chestnut Ridge Rd, Blairsville
passed away, Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Union General Hospital
following an extended illness. James was born in Blairsville on March
17, 1950 son of the late James D. and Mabelle Harkins Cook. He was a
U.S. Army Veteran and served during the Vietnam War. He graduated from
Lanier Tech with an associate degree. He was an avid sportsman and loved
hunting and fishing. James was preceded in death by a brother, Bill
Cook. He was an ordained Baptist Minister and attended Mt. Olivet
Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Cook of Blairsville,
daughter and son-in-law, Molly and Joe Gonsolous of Blairsville, son and
daughter-in-law, James and Holly Cook of Blairsville, sisters, Louise
and Kenny Brown of Marietta, GA, Mablejean and Grady Page of Braselton,
Ga, brother, Clifford Cook of Braselton, Ga, sister-in-law, Patricia
Cook of Ballground, grandchildren, Cory and Samantha Sheriff, Brandon
Spivey, Aaron Spivey, Zack Coker, Kaitlynn Cook, Clay Cook, Corrina
Harris and Isabella Harris, great grandchild, Brayden Sheriff.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday,
December 21, 2011 at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Mullinax
and Rev. Larry Truelove officiating. Music will be by Sandy Gribble,
Merle Fortenberry and Kenneth Arrowood. Pallbearers will be Casey Brown,
Tim Brown, Jimmy Cook, Bucky Cook, Wesley Elliott, Michael Self, Danny
Turner and Scott Hughes. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Adams,
Herbert Teague and Tommy Lovell. Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant
Baptist Church Cemetery.
